Crescent City, Ca to Florence, Oregon

The weather stayed overcast, foggy and cold through most of our traveling...

...which is probably a good thing since we still found so much to see that we barely covered 20 miles per day.

We came across these guys just as we crossed the border from California into Oregon.

You may think Mary is dressed like this for a walk on the beach--nope.  This is how she slept--including the hat.  She also had several blankets on her bed but she still had trouble getting warm.  It's that thin Hawaiian blood.

We couldn't get enough of the wonderful beaches.

And even though the days were so foggy the horizon would be almost indistinct, the views were still wonderful

We came across this couple and my first thought was that they lost their car keys.  They were actually looking for special stones--jade, jasper, etc.--and were on their knees the entire time we were at the beach.  Somehow this seemed like hard work to me.

Mary discovered my 'as-seen-on-TV', 50' water hose...

...and put it to use on the dishes.  (She was always one to find the shortcuts when it came to housework)

We found driftwood...

...lots and lots of driftwood.

And bridges...

and sloughs...

and more scenery....

Hmmm...
