I only spent one afternoon here....
Known as the Lobster Capital of the World for lobster fishing, lobster processing, lobster tanks, and lobster festivals, this is where you'll find the World's Largest Lobster!
That little statue of the fisherman under the front claw is life-sized.
...Also the finest saltwater beaches in Eastern Canada with waters peaking at 75 degrees Fahrenheit--some of the warmest water north of Virginia.
No, I did not go swimming.
"The town of Shediac wishes to pay tribute to one of its distinguished citizens on the 90th Anniversary of his historic invention, i.e. the first Crossword game, predating the Scrabble game by 12 years. Inventor and former Mayor and Councillor of the Town of Shediac, Edward R. McDonald, has had an illustrious career as a lawyer, politician, author and explorer. "
I did stop at a restaurant for a lobster sandwich--horridly expensive at $20.00--with very little lobster in a bread roll. I was beginning to hear talk about the scarcity of lobsters, shrimp and fish so the price I paid for that sandwich is indicative I fear of what is to come.
